De Luis again evokes the idea of death in this work, which can be interpreted inversely, as the passage from life to death or vice versa. He also uses elements already common in his creations, such as the butterfly, the moth and floral elements, although in skeletal form this time, such as the skeleton flower, which owes its name to the transparency of its petals. In this representation the author plays with and almost mocks the conventional idea of still life.
